Leave No Migrant Behind: The 2030 Agenda and Data Disaggregation

This guide explains the relevance of developing accurate and timely data to leave no migrant behind, particularly in the in the mission to achieve the goals established in the 2030 Agenda. In this regard, SDG Target 17.18 calls to increase the availability of “high-quality, timely and reliable data disaggregated by income, gender, age, race, ethnicity [and] migratory status”. Furthermore, this document provides guidance on disaggregation of SDG indicators by migratory status. It focuses on practitioners and other relevant actors who work with migration and/or SDG data and it aims to help them in the disaggregation process, whether it be in relation to available resources for disaggregation to techniques on how to better communicate on data.
