The Executive Committee of the High Commissioner’s Programme (ExCom) is the governing body of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). It meets annually in Geneva to review and approve UNHCR’s programs and budget, advise on international protection, and discuss a range of other issues with UNHCR and intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. The seventy-fifth session of the ExCom will feature a high-level segment on statelessness to mark the end of the #IBelong campaign and take stock of the campaign’s achievements and good practices. The high-level segment on statelessness will also mark the launch of the Global Alliance to End Statelessness and provide an opportunity to renew collective commitments.

The general debate is articulated around issues raised in the statement of the High Commissioner. The Executive Committee will have received an outline of the statement in advance of the session. The Committee will also have before it brief updates on developments at the regional and global levels.
