Expert Group on Migration Statistics Technical Meeting

20-22 June 2022

The EGM held its Technical Meeting on Indicators and Operationalization of the Conceptual Framework of International Migration Statistics in Rabat, Morocco from 20-22 June 2022. The meeting focused on shaping the list of core and additional migration indicators (MI) that should be included. Through the discussion and subsequent written input, UNHCR worked to ensure the IRRS are properly reflected in the recommendations from the EGM – in particular in the core and additional migration indicators and topics for policy area 1 (on measuring international migration and temporary mobility stocks and flows) and as a secondary topic for disaggregation in policy area 3-6. Where relevant alignment to the 12 priority SDG indicators for forced displacement was incorporated.
