To complement the quantitative global overview, EGRISS’ monitoring efforts also include the development of case studies that document experiences from countries and institutions using the International Recommendations to strengthen their national statistics. These qualitative case studies, developed collaboratively with partners involved, provide important lessons learned that can be shared with other actors conducting similar exercises.

Read below examples of how countries have started to apply the International Recommendations on Refugee, IDP and Statelessness Statistics (IRRS, IRIS and IROSS) to harmonize definitions and concepts, include these populations in national data collection exercises, build capacity and improve the coordination between different stakeholders working in the area.
