International Recommendations on Statelessness Statistics: Discussion Paper

This paper presents the progress of the EGRISS in developing International Recommendations on Statelessness Statistics (IROSS) as of February 2021. The paper begins by providing information on the initiation of work on statistical recommendations on statelessness. It then discusses the importance of collecting data on this population and presents the main data gaps in the area. The paper then presents the proposed statistical framework for statelessness statistics. Finally, it discusses the main challenges associated with collecting data on this population and outlines the next steps to finalize the IROSS.
