This briefing paper highlights that an effective monitoring of the implementation of the SDGs can only be reached when migrants and refugees are included into the review process. The publication firstly underscores that the current lack of data disaggregated by migratory status is a reflection of the statistic invisibility of these vulnerable populations. The publication then advocates for census data, data from national administrative registers and sample surveys as possible data sources to achieve the objective of leaving no one behind. Lastly, the report recommends policymakers to apply definitions and methods recommended by the International Recommendations on Refugee Statistics (IRRS) in data collections.
