EGRISS participated in the second edition of the Online African School on Migration Statistics, jointly organized by the African Union Institute of Statistics (STATAFRIC), Statistics Sweden and IOM’s Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (GMDAC). EGRISS intervention focused on the standardization of questions to identify refugees and IDPs. Accordingly, the group introduced the international recommendations on refugee and IDP statistics and provided specific recommendations for improving census data on IDPs and refugees. The session also highlighted key takeaways on the use of censuses and surveys to collect statistics on these populations.
