63rd ISI World Statistics Congress

Improving Statistics on Forcibly Displaced

11-16 July 2021

As part of the 63rd ISI World Statistics Congress (11-16 July 2021) EGRISS organized a virtual session entitled ‘Improving Statistics on Forcibly Displaced Through New Frameworks and Innovative Capacity Development Approaches.’ The session highlighted the statistical frameworks found in the IRRS and IRIS and showcased experiences from Kenya and Mexico to produce official statistics on refugees and IDPs. Colleagues from the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) and the World Bank also joined the panel to discuss the importance of reliable statistics to inform adequate national policy responses and effective development plans in forced displacement situations. The recordings of the event can be found here.
