This report provides examples from the Central African Republic and Somalia of good practices aimed at making available quality data on internal displacement. The report looks into the collaborative workshop on data collection methods that took place in CAR and the profiling exercise carried out by Somalia to gain a thorough understanding of the displacement situation. Both examples were used to highlight the need to work collaboratively on internal displacement data and set standards at the global and national levels to secure durable solutions to the issue of displacement.
The publication highlights the importance of the International Recommendations on IDP Statistics (IRIS) in conceptualizing measures and indicators on international displacement and allowing to measure the achievement of durable solutions.
