Country case studies

Since the endorsement of the International Recommendations on Refugee, IDP and Statelessness Statistics (IRRS, IRIS and IROSS), the EGRISS Secretariat has been monitoring their implementation at national, regional, and global levels. To complement the quantitative global overview, the Expert Group develops collaboratively with partners involved case studies that document experiences from countries and institutions. This qualitative approach provides important lessons learned that can be shared with other actors conducting similar exercises.

The examples below demonstrate concrete steps to harmonize definitions and concepts, include forcibly displaced populations in national data collection exercises, build capacity and improve the coordination between different stakeholders working in the area. These case studies further inform the priorities of EGRISS moving forward.
