The EGRISS 2025 Annual Report: Sustaining progress amid global volatility: Advancing statistical inclusion at the close of our third mandate is the fifth annual report produced by the Expert Group on Refugee, IDP and Statelessness Statistics (EGRISS). The publication highlights the main achievements and the collective work of the group between January and December 2025. With a foreword signed by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), this document reflects on a year of significant global disruption while demonstrating the group’s resilience and continued relevance as it concluded its third mandate (2020–2025).
The report showcases key achievements across five interconnected workstreams and presents key findings from the 2025 iteration of the Global Annual Inclusion (GAIN) Survey, which monitors global uptake of the International Recommendations on Refugees (IRRS), IDPs (IRIS), and Statelessness (IROSS) Statistics. It includes in-depth case studies illustrating practical applications from the Philippines, Mexico, Kenya, Mali, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and UNHCR. Looking ahead, the report sets out EGRISS’ priority agenda as the group launches its fourth mandate in 2026, marking a decade since its establishment.
