The Expert meeting was organized by the African Union (AU) Commission, through the African Migration Observatory and STATAFRIC, in collaboration with IOM GMDAC and the IOM Rabat Office. The meeting aimed at promoting existing international frameworks and methodologies for the production of high quality migration statistics that are comparable nationally, regionally and internationally. The EGRISS Secretariat presented during the meeting on the International Recommendations on Refugee and IDP Statistics (IRRS and IRIS) and highlighted the relevance of these statistical frameworks for the work in the region.
