On the 22-25th of March, COMESA hosted a validation workshop for its first Labour Migration Statistics Report, organized with the support from Statistics Sweden and Statafric. The objective of the workshop was to discuss the future of labour migration statistics in the region, align national data with international statistical standards, and share information between the Member States. EGRISS members UN-ECA and Djibouti’s National Institute of Statistics led a session with the Secretariat, to introduce the Refugee and IDP statistical recommendations and highlight opportunities to strengthen forced displacement statistics in the region.
About the facilitated edition
Developed by EGRISS and UN-SIAP, this facilitated edition includes live webinars, a structured learning schedule, and interactive discussions alongside the core modules. It covers the IRRS, IRIS and IROSS — definitions, classifications, methodologies, data sources, coordination mechanisms, and SDG linkages.
Offered once every two years. Previous participants welcome as a refresher; new participants especially encouraged.
