This report summarizes the two main documents submitted by the EGRISS to the UN Statistical Commission in 2018, namely the International Recommendations on Refugee Statistics (IRRS) and the Technical Report on Statistics of Internally Displaced Persons.
After providing background information on the establishment and working methods of the EGRISS, the report reflects on the need for the international recommendations on refugee statistics and the technical report on statistics of IDPs and summarizes the main content of both documents. The report concludes by presenting the actions to be taken by the Commission at its 49th session.
