This report summarizes the two main documents submitted by the EGRISS to the UN Statistical Commission in 20200, namely the International Recommendations on Internally Displaced Persons Statistics (IRIS) and the Compilers’ Manual.
After providing background information on the establishment and working methods of the EGRISS, the report reflects on the need for the international recommendations on IDP statistics and the Compilers’ Manual and summarizes the main content of both documents. The report further establishes the links between the international recommendations on IDP statistics and the international recommendations on refugee statistics. The document concludes by presenting the actions to be taken by the Commission at its 51st session.
